The UK Government is now offering a £2 million Investor Visa for High Net Worth Individuals wishing to relocate to the UK from outside the EU. It takes three months to process and the eligibility criteria are as follows:

• The applicant must by 18 and over
• with £2 million or more to invest into the UK
• and no requirement to know English

The investment must be into either UK Government Bonds or as share or loan capital into a company trading in the UK. However the investment cannot be made into property or the property management sectors.

The successful applicant can bring their dependants i.e. wife and children under 18 years and will be granted an initial visa for 3 years followed by a further 2 year extension. Thereafter they may wish to apply for settlement in the UK, which will lead to UK nationality.

I feel that this may be a popular route for many.
