I do not believe that an economy as developed as the UK’s will ever come to a a standstill due to uncertainty and fear. Businesses have to deal with planing for the future all the time, which is by its very nature is uncertain. If you are referring to the current Brexit situation. There is certainty of outcome. That certainly is departing on WTO rules. The uncertainty is if a trade agreement with the EU may be struck. Which is deemed to be better. Therefore the uncertainly you refer to is deemed better than the certainty we currently have and so therefore not be feared.
